Travelling with children
With us, children and parents or children and grandparents can enjoy their time together to the full. We offer spacious and cosy studios with an area of 41 square metres or more. These have two interconnected open-plan rooms with space to play and retreat for guests of all ages.
Boredom is never an option here. The best thing to do is to go on a discovery tour to find out how much fun and games the congress hotel on the shores of Lake Templin has to offer young guests. Here are a few tips for a joint search for clues at the hotel:
- In the warmer months of the year, our hotel offers a wide range of outdoor activities, from pedal boat hire for tours on Lake Templin to bike hire (including children’s bikes), table tennis and a trampoline.
- There is plenty of space to play and run around in the 2,000 square metre outdoor area of our hotel.
- Prefer to stay indoors? Our Wellbeing Area has a large indoor pool. Or would you prefer to read? Young and old readers alike will find inspiration in the book bar. Located on the 2nd floor in building C.

Discovering Potsdam together is great fun. A few tips for anyone travelling with children:
- Not far from our hotel (Auf dem Kiewitt 3) on the banks of the Havel Bay is the Dino Jungle, an indoor playground with slides, climbing walls, giant trampolines, mazes and mountains on an area of over 1500 square metres. By the way, all grandmas and grandpas have free admission on Thursdays.
The Museum Barberini offers its own audio guide for children on its free app, allowing them to experience the museum’s art in a completely different way. New stories, funny ideas and tricky questions make a visit to the museum exciting for young visitors.
- The car-free Friendship Island is a paradise for children, which becomes even more exciting on the playground. Playing with water, splashing around, sliding, climbing … the popular playground entices children to go on adventures and provides (grand)parents with moments of relaxation.
- Many of the most beautiful fairytale films were made in Potsdam, Germany’s film capital. Two showcases in the permanent exhibition at the Potsdam Film Museum are dedicated to this tradition. There are quiz sheets for young visitors to playfully explore the exhibition.
There are many more exciting places for children to discover, experience and learn in Potsdam. Feel free to ask our friendly ladies and gentlemen at reception for their personal tips.
